I am Irene Draisma and started Psychologist International in 2016.
I graduated as MSc. Clinical Neuro and Clinical Psychology in 2011 at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
After that I worked 5 years as a psychologist with (young) adults with psycho-somatic complaints. Somatic complaints caused or maintained by psychological factors. Most of them suffered from chronic pain or tiredness. The main cause was stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, existential questions. We searched for the core reason of suffering and set meaningful goals. To reach these goals we worked in a multidisciplinary team with physicians, physiotherapists and psychologists.
In 2016 I started my own practice in the Netherlands, because I wanted to be able to work with people from all over the world and wherever I was. The same year I moved to Istanbul together with my husband.
I am Social Responsibility coordinator for International Women of Istanbul and write regularly in Lale Magazine about different psychological topics.
In my sessions, I find it important to pay attention to your philosophy of life. What is really meaningful to you. Your smaller goals should be in line with that. Also we work preventive with more focus on solutions (where to go) than problems (where you came from). Together with my scientifical knowledge from my masters degree I make use of insights from Yoga because I believe in holism. At the moment I am following an Advanced Yoga Teachertraining at Delight Yoga in Amsterdam.
I love nature, to dance, sing, travel and enjoy deep talks with friends and family.
With peace to power,
